Please note, Big Bad Boss: Midnight cannot be read as a standalone.Determined to help pay for her brother’s education, Madison decides to take a position on Wall Street as the assistant to billionaire CEO, Brick Blackthroat. He’s all alpha and loves shouting orders, expecting everyone to jump to his command. But Madison is incredibly smart and not only makes herself indispensable, she starts driving him just as crazy as he drives her.Brick doesn’t want to like his new assistant. But, she’s brilliant and exceptional at her job and way too tempting since he’s the alpha of his pack and she is human. And, everytime he challenges her, she pushes right back . . .driving him insane in the best of ways!As sparks fly between them, they give in to temptation. Both know it’s a bad idea. Neither can resist. But, Madison has no idea who Brick really is, and even though his wolf may want her, as alpha, Brick knows he can never have the beautiful and sassy human for good. This couple has so much chemistry and heat you’ll need to fan yourself as you read their story! I adore everything about Madison. She’s so smart, so sassy, incredibly independent and knows her own self worth. She’s also got a chip on her shoulder from her past and is more vulnerable and insecure at times than expected, making her feel very relatable.Brick is all alpha . . . because he literally is the alpha of his pack, which comes with a lot of drama as well. He’s a take charge individual, but isn’t quite sure how to handle Madi. He knows he can’t have her, but that doesn’t seem to matter to him or his wolf no matter what the rest of his pack thinks.Together, this couple is sass and fire and the banter between them is off the hook! It’s spicy as can be. There is a lot of drama, mostly surrounding Brick’s pack as well as a feud with their rivals. And, of course, keeping everything a secret from his very perceptive assistant. Fast paced and lots of fun, I’m completely intrigued by this couple and their story and I can’t wait for more, especially after that ending! 4.5 stars.
