Flynn Taylor, rock ‘n roll heartthrob, plays fast and loose.
He’s with different girls every night. Yes, girls plural.
On the brink of becoming not just a Chicago sensation but an American icon,
he’s everything I should avoid.
Then again, maybe it doesn’t matter.
I’m so damaged, I’m not even capable of a relationship.
He might be the perfect antidote.

If it goes wrong–no harm, no foul, right?
If only I can keep my overprotective bratva brother from threatening to kill him if he even touches me…

OMG!! I can’t describe the emotions I went through reading this book. It was suspenseful, haunting, and oddly romantic despite some darkness. I seriously couldn’t stop reading. It may have been less than a day of reading. Just couldn’t put it down.
This series is so emotional: filled with strong characters finding and accepting their hearts. Nadia and Flynn complete each other, inspire each other, and make dreams come true. She’s had such a difficult time just living day to day: nightmares, panic attacks, and gut wrenching thoughts. His presence, his support, and his compassion gives her a chance to experience a physical relationship. His patience and passion brings her desire and need to feel out with a vengeance. Steamy, dirty, and so much more than anything she could have imagined! Love is their’s to grab and hold! I love these 2!
I love all of the books in this series but this story is probably my favorite. The grittiness of a survivor like Nadia is so inspirational and you can’t help but want her to get the HEA she deserves.
This is the eighth book in this series. It features Adrian’s sister, Nadia. She is still recovering from her captivity and human trafficking. She is just now going outside. But only to see The Storytellers perform on Saturday nights. She is infatuated with Flynn Taylor. Who is quickly taking the spotlight from his sister, Story, the lead singer. But he rescues her when she is having a panic attack and he helps her with what he thinks is social anxiety. And really he is totally smitten with her. But it’s hard for him to realize. The fact is he is a Player. With a different girl or girls six nights a week. But he can’t turn off his protectiveness for Nadia. And he is exactly what she needs. A friend to support her and be there when she needs to come down from the panic and nightmares. Soon they admit to themselves, not each other, that they are more than friends. And of course there is drama. One of his fan girls has her sights on Flynn and will do anything to get him. Even lie about a pregnancy. Can Nadia recover from her hurt feelings? Can Flynn get the truth out of Cadence? And when one of Nadia’s tormentors surfaces can she suck it up and kill him? Or will Flynn and Adrian get to her in time? This tale is full of danger, abuse, survival, personal growth and lots of steamy love.
I love this series so much. If you love dark, mafia romance with a twist of friendship, honour and true feelings, this is our series❤️❤️
Flynn enjoys nothing more than playing in his band, partying, and the girls. That is until he sees the Russian beauty Nadia. Nadia has many anxieties and she's fighting hard to overcome them. I think the only person who can bring her back to life is the player himself but will be break her before he leaves her?
Nadia finally gets into the light! This story is absolutely amazing! Thank you Renee Rose for all the words! You are amazing!
This was a powerful book. It hit differently than the others and I loved it hard. Having a hard look into Nadia's life was heartbreaking, and I loved how she took charge of her life. Author Rose did the panic attacks justice. Loved Nadia's song! Flynn was so wonderful. Excellent writing.
I absolutely loved this book.Flynn and Nadia rescued each other.I loved that Flynn wasn't full on dominant.Well done Renee Rose.
Renee Rose penned another exceptional story in her Chicago Bratva series! I hate to admit it, but I had the same skepticism as most of the side characters for Flynn being the right partner for Nadia. However, Renee quickly and absolutely convinced me that Flynn was PERFECT in every way, just like their love story.
This was a really good story. To know that there are people in this world that have experienced what Nadia did hurts my heart. Flynn is the best book boyfriend ever. To be so caring, compassionate and understanding at all times with Nadia was the sweetest thing. Loved their story and looking forward to reading The Gatekeeper when it’s released….
Always look forward to the next adventure with these guys. This was slightly different in that The Player was not a member of the Bratva, but fell in love with the sister of one.
These characters and their kinship. and love for each other is so enjoyable. Love is possible for us all inspite of it all.
So I stand corrected. I thought maybe this book would not be as good as others in the series because the main love interest is not one of the bratva men. But I was pleasantly surprised. It's terrific! Definitely a must-read.
Flynn and Nadia were so good together Flynn being so caring and understanding without going over the top.Such a sweet story that just grabbed me from the very beginning.
Loved Flynn and Nadia's journey from beginning to new beginning. This is a highly emotional roller coaster adventure filled with all the beloved dangerous and engaging charters from the previous books and some exciting new faces. Highly entertaining reading.
Renee Rose has done it again! Another outstanding story in her Chicago Bratva series. One of her best stories yet - filled with heart, healing, heat and satisfying revenge. Great book!
Nadia and Flynn's story was very sweet. They had to work past some obstacles, but they did it together. Nadia is such a strong, brave soul, despite all that she's been through. Flynn is sweet and so patient, but doesn't realize he's standing in his own way. These two learn to navigate life together beautifully and are just what the other person needed. Beautiful love story.
When this author has an ARC available, I jump before they're all gone. This story was handled with such empathy and sensitivity. I'm absolutely in love with Flynn, and Nadia's courage takes my breath away.
Story wise - this is my favorite book in the whole series! Pavel and Kayla will always be my favorite couple, but there's something about Nadia and Flynn that just gives you all the feels. They're adorable with each other. It makes you want to gather them to your chest and protect them from the outside world.Adrian's little sister. Trafficking Survivor. These titles don't define Nadia. Bad things happen to good people, but it's how you process that trauma that stands out. In Nadia's case, she's not willing to let life pass her. She realizes that she still has issues, but she's constantly working to put the past behind her. It's not all sunshine and rainbows, but she's trying. Nadia's strive to win against the shadows is what makes this whole book worth it.Oh, Flynn! It takes him a hot minute, but he realizes that the friendship he has with Nadia isn't enough. However, everyone tells him to leave her alone. By everyone, I mean several big, tall, scary Russian dudes. She's not one of his one nights, where he can hit it and quit it. Yet, he realizes her worth and strives to be a better man, but it might be too late when the past comes back to haunt him.
The Player (Chicago Bratva, #8) is the story of Nadia and Flynn. The love connection between them is bitter/sweet. There is a lot of emotional moments that will break your heart and have you cheering at the same time.I have read most of the Chicago Bratva series and they all are great books on their own and as a series.I highly recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book and am enthusiastically leaving a review.
Nadia and Flynn are like two puzzle pieces that fit together perfectly. Each brings something out in the other. For Nadia, it’s healing from a horrific period of abuse. For Flynn, it’s moving beyond a meaningless life of casual drugs and equally casual encounters with groupies.I liked that Nadia’s story has been building through earlier books in Rose’s Chicago Bratva series and the journey of her rescue has led to her only escape from the safe walls of her home: hearing Flynn’s band play. For Flynn—who is a genuinely nice guy—he’s noticed the pretty girl at his shows, but witnessing Nadia’s full-blown panic attack brings out protective instincts that have been nurtured by a lifetime under less-than-ideal parenting.Like most of the Chicago Bratva books, trust is a major issue in The Player. Nadia has to trust in her strengths, and Flynn has to trust in his abilities, and each helps the other to address that. My only complaint is that there’s an action late in the book that I just didn’t think fit Flynn’s personality, and that was far too easily handled in terms of impact on Flynn and Nadia. I would have liked to have seen that handled differently, particularly considering all the options from Nadia’s bratva connections. But you have two leads in The Player who are strenuously working to improve and move forward in their lives, and who find the key to that in one another. That makes for a winning read overall.
Situations in life can seem so hopeless but the human will with help can survive and even thrive !! Love is astonishing and powerful enough to break any hold !! Trust, honesty and integrity will forge ahead to the best connection for the future !! The awesome journey is just beyond !!
I would have given this book an unqualified 5 stars but for the ending (I will not share my reasons as they definitely involve spoilers. I do understand Flynn and Nadia’s actions - I just can’t agree with them). This story had some beautiful insight into the world of panic disorder and agoraphobia and, although this is fiction so the timeline is compressed, I think that Ms. Rose handled Nadia’s struggles with a delicate and gentle hand. I loved Flynn and Nadia and really enjoyed this story which I happily and voluntarily reviewed.
Such a great story, while not as kinky as some of the other Bratva books still totally here for it. Can't wait for the next one. The books are like Pokemon gotta get them all!
Renee Rose has done a great job with this series. In this story Nadia who has been a victim of human trafficking. Nadia's past is a heart breaking story. Flynn is so sweet and understanding with her.Nadia is attracted to Flynn, the guitar player with the Storytellers band. When Flynn notices Nadia having a panic attack and he knows how to help her. Nadia has had a crush on Flynn and asks for a "friend with benefits" arrangement to help her through her trauma without her past interferring. It's a sweet story Nadia is finally able to get a little justice to one of the people who harmed her and many others.
THE PLAYER, author Renee Rose's latest Bratva romance is her best to date! Filled with so many "awe" moments and twisty action, I read through the night! So, be for warned, THE PLAYER is most definitely one of those novels that captures one's attention quickly and blocks out the real world until the very last word is read. Flynn's and Nadia's love story is at once tender and and heart stopping! I became so invested in both characters, I hated to leave them at the book's end. Bother of them were broken, hence the trigger warnings, but their love is the most wonderful example of the the restorative power of true love! I strongly recommend this 4+Star romance be your next book purchase! 😉 Happy Pages!!
When Nadia runs out of the club in a panic, Flynn sees her and tries to support her. An unknown crush on both sides. Flynn is known for having a different girl all the time. He says he doesn’t do commitment, relationships. But Nadia pulls at him and he realizes that being just friends may be hard. As Nadia works through her past trauma, the others while always protective are she her grow her own wings. But will her brother get in the way? This is an amazing story of facing trauma and redefining and finding one’s self! This story keeps you wanting to know what will happen next.
I love this series and I am so glad that Nadia"s story is told.Flynn is known as the playboy of the band Storytellers.Nadia is Adrian's (The cleaner for the Bratva) sister who has panic attacks due to her past. What starts out as friends turns into a love where two people help each other overcome their fears. The story flows along so smoothly that you really feel that you know the characters and feel their pain along with their joy.Not only is the writing suburb but so is the editing. You won't find those annoying spelling mishaps that take away from a story.Another 5+ for this author.
