Made Men Book 2: Don't Tempt Me

I'm really enjoying this new, new to me author, and this series is amazing! The storyline is great, the characters are lovable, and the romance steamy.

Always a delight to read a book from Renée. You never let me down when it comes to reading even if I'm always have book hangovers🤣thank you ❤️

Everything about this book from steamy bedroom scenes to characters who appeared well rounded and complex piqued my interest and enjoyment.

Sometimes it seems like life throws you a curve ball, but you are forced to roll with it !! This is a dangerous game with a winning hand !! Love is what you make it, the winner takes all, fantastic !!

Can’t say I’ve ever read a book that Renee was part of that I haven’t enjoyed. Strong dominant men and a strong, sweet woman to bring them to heel. Nicely done with just the right amount of steam.

I loved this story. It was touching and at times fearful. I'm happy with the ending. I loved the characters. Can't wait for the next story in the series.

Sophie's dad was in the mafia and killed when she was 14. Her mother blamed the mafia family and cut their ties to them. Now Sophie's an adult and attracted to Joey, the brother of the head of the mafia family. Lots of angst and back and forth.

Absolutely a fantastic read! Joey is 100% an Alpha and Sophie is independent and jaded. The chemistry is off the charts.

Years ago when Sophie father died, Joey was the one who took Sophie away from the funeral to help her forget her worst day ever, but he did not know it then, Joey was attracted to the young Sophie. Now seeing Sophie again it brought back so many memories to Joey, but will this couple put all that behind them and have a lasting relationship that can survive what the family does for a living or will they go their separate ways.I am volunteering to leave a ARC review of this book.

I loved, loved, loved Joey.Joey knew what he wanted and that was Sophie. Sophie needed a little longer to come around due to her experience with the family.A few editing errors in this book the prologue states she is 12 the next page she's 14, plus a few more editing errors on point of views. Luckily the editing didn't distract from the story.

This is book 2 in the series and they just keep getting better. This is Joey and Sophie’s story. This author writes the best smoking Hot Mafia stories and I’m never disappointed. I enjoyed reading this one.

Sophie and Joey are incredible together even though they haven't seen each other in awhile there's a pull they can't deny and both want so much.This was hot with tension and intense at times with an age gap and family issues. I really enjoyed it.

Sophie and Joey's story was a bit more tame than the first book in the series, but still very good. Joey is really a sweet, soft guy with a bit of alpha male. Sophie has been burned by the family before and it takes Joey a whole lot of convincing her to see that he's different. This book is a sweet second chance romance with a bit of action and hotness thrown in. I'm looking forward to more stories about this family.

I couldn't give an overview of the story but enough people do that so, I just give my opinion. And Renee Rose is one of my favorite Indy authors. I love her style and she trips every trigger in all the right ways 😉 I own a ridiculous amount of her books and for good reason.

Joey and Sophie weren't exactly a match made in heaven. Sophie grew up with a mother that hated the Family. Her dad's influence was able to moderate some of the hate, but after his death there was no one. Years later when Joey walks into her shop, despite everything, she can't seem to turn away.The story itself is good. Joey and Sophie were both likeable characters. Joey was tough when he needed to be, yet gentle when Sophie needed him to be. Sophie seemed somewhat lost in the world pre-Joey. Her hesitancy was understandable and the author did a good job working through her feelings about Joey as well the loss of her father. Although this was a second book in the series, it would work fine as a standalone.

Action packed, heart-racing journey filled with dangerous and exciting charters, witty dialog, emotionally thrilling twists and edge of your seat turns. A highly entertaining read from beginning to end that was so hard to put down.

I love this story. Joey and Sophie are amazing together. Their journey together is filled with challenges. I am happy with everything. The flow of this book is done well. I do recommend this book.

I know these books in this series are rewrites but they are so addicting and easy to read. I really loved Joey. He made up his mind and stuck with it. And he made up his mind that Sophie was the one he wanted. And he didn't let Sophie's issues with the family so him from going for there HEA. I really loved his character. Sophie I loved as well but I did wanna shake her a few times and try to get her to see the whole picture. Lol she was just trying to make her own way but I think she also liked how Joey tried to help her as well. Even if she had a hard time taking the help. I really enjoyed this book.

There is action, drama, danger, suspense, twist/turns, enemies, survival, intrigue, mystery, secrets, surprises, anger, fear, pain, conflict, confusion, strength, courage, stubbornness, struggles, protection, lies, tension, arrogance, doubts, turmoil, complications, revelations, frustration, determination, romance, passion and love.

Loved the story of Joey LaTorre and Sophie Palazzo. A beautiful romance under trying times and an ugly past, but perseverance wins out. Loved it.

Overall it was a good story, with a sweet hea. Joey never changed his personality, his desires or wanting Sophie. Sophie on the other hand seemed to flip flop, say one thing, do another, was tstl in the situation of her dad’s death. Joey was steady, Sophie was all over the place. I’m glad he got what he wanted and that she eventually got her head on straight.

I really enjoyed Book 2 in this very juicy series. Joey LaTorre pays a visit to Sophie and his building obsession starts from there. Sophie doesn’t want to be involved with any of The Family, yet Joey has his sights on Sophie. Things heat up in the most delicious ways and it’s interesting how many ways and directions it goes. This story was entertaining and kept me reading from beginning to end. I really enjoyed how this played out and the HEA was perfect! I like reading any series in order because you know the history of others mentioned in the following stories. I received an arc and voluntarily left an honest review.

I really struggled with this book. The writing and editing is exactly what I expect from Ms. Rose and so that part of the book was good. My struggles centered around Sophie’s character. She didn’t want to have anything to do with the family and yet slept with Joey within literal minutes of re-meeting him. She didn’t want to be part of the family but entered into a relationship with him. She flip flopped so much; rather than making an intentional decision about her life, she fell into decisions and then regretted the consequences of them. I do not like the glamorized version of life in The Family but if she wanted t9 be part of it, own it and move forward. I did like the closure that she got from talking about her father’s death but my distaste for her coloured my whole enjoyment of the book.

Renee Rose always writes really good Mafia romances, and Joey and Sophie's story is no exception. I enjoyed this story just as much as all the others I've read by her. However, one aspect of the mystery surrounding her father keeps tripping me up.*Spoilers/Spoilers/Spoilers*Without going into too much detail, how can someone have last words specific enough to ask for something if they died 'instantly' and with 'no suffering'? Especially given the *location* of the cause of death? It just does not compute for me.

Sophie and Joey have history since both of their parents were apart of the Cosa Nostra. Joey was there for Sophie during her father's funeral and she has never forgotten. Thirteen years later she meets him again and he is determined to have her. Due to her father and mother's difficult marriage because of la famiglia, Sophie isn't interested in a relationship with Joey. But Joey will do everything he can to make her see that she is meant for him.I loved Joeys determination to make Sophie see they are meant for eachother. Even through all of Sophie's rejections he always come back to her. The spice was superb and the story line was chef's 💋. I will continue this series as it releases. I haven't read any of Renee's books until now but will definitely be reading more!

This is an insta-lust story between two people who’ve orbited around one another in the mafia world. And once past that initial moment of desire, Don’t Tempt Me is a fun read. Joey is consistent and focused on his interest in Sophie; once he experiences their physical compatibility, he’s all in with her. Sophie has a lot of reasons to resist this made man; her mother never liked the mafia, and Sophie lost her dad to mob violence.I loved the way Rose worked the mystery of what happened to Sophie’s father through the story. The way it was incrementally revealed through a dropped hint here and there felt true to life, and I loved that Sophie put the pieces together to lead to a sense of resolution not only for herself but for others. And I really liked that Joey’s interest in Sophie led him to examine his life and decide what parts meant something to him and to his future.My only quibble with Don’t Tempt Me is that first physical encounter that happens between Sophie and Joey. It happens at her work when he’s come to be treated by her (she’s a massage therapist). After stressing the point that being physical with a patient would not be appropriate (going so far as to make that the distinguishing factor between a massage therapist and a masseuse), I had trouble accepting that Sophie would immediately get physical with Joey just because he got turned on by a massage. It was really jarring, and it made it hard for me to accept their relationship being more than just an encounter for the first few chapters.So once it gets going, Don’t Tempt Me is a wonderful read. It’s a question of whether you’ll accept that opening encounter or struggle with it. But persevere; you’ll be rewarded with the rest of this book!
